Do I Need This Turbosmart Part?

Who is Turbosmart? Turbosmart Australia

If you don’t know then you must have been living under a rock because Turbosmart is one of the most trusted and recognised performance brands in the industry, since 1997 it’s been pioneering the way forward in performance motorsport across many platforms in JDM, Euro and Muscle.

So what makes Turbosmart so important right now? Well, when you’ve got such a pedigree backing the brand you can only imagine how much time has gone into testing products to their absolute peak performance.

It bodes the question, do you need this Turbosmart part? Below are some pretty cool parts we at Pro Speed Racing think you should incorporate into your build because if you’re after reliability and a product that allows you to reach those sweet horsepower gains then you’re in the right place.

Why do I need a turbosmart BOV? - Check them out here!

A Turbosmart Blow Off Valve (BOV) is an essential component for turbocharged vehicles. It plays a crucial role in maintaining optimal performance and protecting your engine.

Firstly, a Turbosmart BOV helps to prevent compressor surge. During sudden throttle release, excess boost pressure can build up, causing the compressor wheel to stall. This can result in decreased turbocharger lifespan and compromised engine performance. The Turbosmart BOV efficiently releases the excess pressure, ensuring smooth and reliable operation. A great example of this is seeing Turbosmart’s Supersonic BOV in action.

Additionally, the Turbosmart BOV improves throttle response and enhances turbocharger longevity. By rapidly venting excess pressure, it minimises lag between gear shifts, leading to quicker acceleration and improved overall driving experience. Furthermore, the BOV reduces strain on the turbocharger and associated components, prolonging their lifespan and reducing the risk of costly repairs.

Why do I need a Turbosmart Boost Controller? - Check them out here

If you want to look sick and experience the pinnacle of boost control management then you need Turbosmart. As a leading provider, Turbosmart offers a comprehensive range of boost controllers to cater to your specific needs, whether you're on the street or the race track.

There are two types of boost controllers available: mechanical and electronic. With mechanical boost controllers, you have the power to set up to two boost levels, easily controlled by a switch. These controllers are known for their simplicity, ease of installation, and low maintenance requirements.

For a more advanced solution, Turbosmart presents electronic boost controllers. These sophisticated controllers provide a multitude of boost settings mapped against various triggers, such as gear changes, time intervals, RPM thresholds, or manual switches. Experience ultimate control and unleash the full potential of your turbocharged engine.

To ensure you stay informed about your boost levels, Turbosmart offers an extensive range of gauges. These gauges not only monitor boost levels but also provide valuable insights into exhaust gas temperature (EGT) and transmission temperatures. With Turbosmart, you can keep a close eye on your engine's performance and make informed adjustments.

How to install a Turbsomart Boost controller?

It’s relatively simple if you’ve got the right tools and the time on your hands. Follow these steps Turbosmart themselves have put together.

  1. Allow the engine to cool down before installing your boost controller.
  2. Locate the bottom port on the external wastegate and the pressure source port.
  3. Install the Boost Tee in the wastegate pressure line with the wastegate arrow pointing towards the bottom port on the wastegate.
  4. Secure all silicone hose ends with hose clamps.
  5. Mount your boost controller bracket onto the vehicle, then attach the boost controller onto the bracket with the supplied screws.
  6. Make sure the boost dial is turned completely anti-clockwise before making adjustments.

Why do I need a Turbosmart Wastegate? - Check them out here

If you're looking to unleash the true potential of your turbocharged car, a Turbosmart Wastegate is a must-have upgrade, more importantly, the Turbosmart 50mm wastegate actuator. This high-performance component is designed to precisely regulate boost pressure, resulting in improved engine power, responsiveness, and overall driving experience. The Turbosmart Wastegate effectively controls the flow of exhaust gases, preventing overboost conditions and ensuring optimal turbocharger performance. One example of positive feedback on a Subaru car equipped with a Turbosmart Wastegate comes from a satisfied customer who reported significant gains in power and reduced turbo lag. They praised the durable construction, precise engineering, and easy installation of the Turbosmart Wastegate, noting a noticeable improvement in acceleration and overall engine performance. With a Turbosmart Wastegate, you can confidently push your Subaru or any platform to its limits while enjoying enhanced power delivery and reliability.
