The high pressure built-up from inside the wheel well cause aerodynamic lift which also creates turbulence drag. Relieving this high-pressure build-up by adding fender louver/vent extractors can reduce front axle lift, increasing traction and grip on the tires. It will also help cool the brake system, allowing hot air in the wheel well to escape by moving from positive pressure to negative pressure.
Air drag is the number one cause for low fuel efficiency. Wheel well high pressure built-up contributes up to 30% of aerodynamic drag of a vehicle. Redirecting air out of wheel well increases fuel economy through the reduction of drag.
