Alcon is a designer and manufacturer of ultra-high quality, low volume brake, clutch and other automotive components. We operate in all areas of the industry around the world where the customer wants and expects the best, both from the product and the support that goes with it.
Our clients and their requirements are as wide-ranging as the products we supply. From tiny brake-by-wire controllers for Formula E racing cars to calipers required to stop 35 tonnes of armoured vehicle, the only factor common to everything we do is our no-compromise approach to engineering excellence. Whether you are looking for a few thousand components to use on a high performance road car, or a tiny race team needing just a handful of unique parts, Alcon is the answer.
Trust Alcon brake discs and pads
We pride ourselves in the rapid response enabled by our QRM-based philosophy and decades of experience in motorsport. The time from first contact with a client to the delivery of a bespoke component, designed, engineered, assembled, checked and tested in-house by us can be as little as a month.
And that’s not the only reason Alcon is no ordinary supplier. When customers come to us, they find not just a team of exceptionally talented and dedicated engineers, but a happy band of like-minded enthusiasts. Ever since we were founded in 1983 by engineer and sports car racer John Moore, our work has been our passion. We understand what motivates people to want to win in all competitive environments. Having supplied components for teams that have won championships in every major field of motorsport, we know what winning requires and how to deliver it, too.
Why choose Alcon brake discs and parts?
For serious racing conditions, OEM pads likely won’t carry enough mass to offset the heat and friction generated by sharp stalling. The best way to improve this is by:
- Installing larger pads
- Choosing rotors and calipers made of higher quality materials (like carbon ceramics)
- Increasing air flow to speed up cooling time
Alcon produces a large amount of large-sized kits for a wide variety of vehicle models. Our packs allow you to get greater mass into your car instantly, preparing it for more rigorous riding.
The next thing you’ll want to keep in mind are the pistons, which shape the discs over time. Most OEMs will come with single or double pistons. The trouble with this is that it can cause uneven wear, leading to more frequent pad changes. The models in our line are ideal for offsetting this problem as they’ve been fitted with multiple staggered pistons that ensure flat wear develops, extending the lifespan of your system.
In saying all that, ABS systems are calibrated to the size of the brake setup that the vehicle is designed for, so it’s important to choose a kit that contains similar pistons to the OEM specs. It is possible to tune custom models and ensure perfect synchronisation, but this is best left to the professionals. Don’t hesitate to contact us if you need a hand – we know our way around aftermarket modifications for track and street alike.
Universal items are not application specific and may or may not suit your vehicle. Some items may be suitable but are listed as universal (ie wheel nuts, oil filters) and In some circumstances a product may not fit automatically but can still be used with some modification (ie. catch can/gauge pod etc.). Be sure to check if the product is right for you or ask us for assistance before purchasing. Filter universal products by selecting “Show Universal Products” from the filter products menu.
