Are all tow hooks the same size?
While most aftermarket tow accessories follow a similar size standard, they certainly aren’t made the same. Various sizes are available in our collection, covering a broad range of looks and requirements. You’re free to choose a completely custom look by buying separate elements, or opt for a kit that gives a consistent look.
If you choose to go the custom route, make sure the rings can be secured easily. A secure connection is crucial if your car needs to be towed off the track, so it’s worth researching your choices to make sure elements are a good fit. As always, it’s your call.
Why are tow hooks off centre?
To securely tow a vehicle, these products need to be attached to the strongest point of the car. Usually, this is the chassis – rather than the front of the car, where the bumper is. If your ride needs to be towed, attaching components to the front might cause the entire section to come off, leaving the main body behind.
It’s for this reason that you’ll need to attach parts off-centre. Check where the strongest structural point is to be sure that you can reliably get out of trouble if the event arises.
