Project Mu Brake Pads:
From OEM street replacement pads and discs to performance brake upgrade kits right through to world class motorposrt pads, all compounds are formulated in the Project-Mu plant in Ibaraki, Japan. The Project-Mu factory has fine 400 tonne and three 100 tonne press machines for the manufacturing process and also two purpose built brake dynos for testing and evaluation purposes. Project-Mu has in place stick ISO9001 quality requirements systems.
Project Mu Type HC+ offers superior braking and control across a wide temperature range. It has more bite than NS and has excellent fade resistance. Capable of operating at temperatures up to 800 DegC, this pad will handle almost all serious braking conditions. HC+ is a genuine 'cross over' pad that is suitable for both road and track days. HC+ is extremely capable in competition environments, so use this pad if you are involved in a serious track day, rally and hill climb. Along with temperature capabilities, HC+ are renowned as a 'drivers pad' with unmatched driver feel and control. Project Mu In Racing:
Project-Mu have a rich history in Motorsport in both Japan and Australiasia. Project-Mu supply brakes to Japanese GT, Touring Car and Endurance racing in Japan as well as many other racing categories. In July 2007 a Toyota Supra HV-R Hybrid race car won the prestigious Tokachi 24hr race in Japan using Project-Mu brake pads without needing a brake pad change. The first time a brake pad change was unnecessary.
In Australia, Project-Mu pads are included on the V8 SuperCar control brake pad list due to their wide spread use while the market was uncontrolled. Many podiums at the Bathurst 12-hour were also won using Project-Mu pads and again went the entire race distance without needing a pad change.
Another example of the specialist nature of Project-Mu is the D1 Spec drift pad produced for the rear of drift cars to give the additional performance required. Project-Mu brake are also supplied in Rally, Production Car Racing and Endurance competitors with great success.
