Description

 

This is a genuine pair of Subaru EJ257 2.5 litre shortblock case halves perfect to start a new engine build with upgraded internals. The 2.5 litre makes a great upgrade for all WRX models, since there is no replacement for displacement. The EJ257 block halves feature a semi-closed deck for increased strength. This motor is physically a bolt-in for all WRX and STi models (WRXs will require ECU tuning, bigger injectors, etc.).

 

Notes:

  1. THIS IS NOT A COMPLETE MOTOR: These are case halves only and are sold without internals. You will need a new crank, rods and pistons, bearings, bolts etc. and you will need to reuse your stock cylinder heads or purchase replacements.
  2. The OEM 2.0L WRX heads and WRX 2.5L heads will bolt-on for to the EJ257 short block, but there will be a change in compression.
