Description

AVOTurboworld designed its 2.75" inlet pipe with two goals in mind.  The primary goal was to make the pipe strong enough to resist sucking shut on even the largest of turbochargers.  The other was to make the largest pipe that could fit in the narrow space available on the OEM intake manifold and to the OEM turbocharger location with a 2 3/4" or 3" inlet for larger compressor cover turbochargers.  To make for easy fitment it is highly recommended that TGV Deletes also be installed.  

Why are we so concerned about strength?  If you are running higher boost levels with a larger turbocharger, the turbo can literally suck the pipe shut and this situation is not only bad for power, but can literally destroy a turbocharger!  

Is bigger better?  Yes!  If you are planning on making more power out of your turbocharged car, you need to flow more air, period.  Bigger intercoolers, turbochargers, and exhaust systems will not work if you simply do not suck in enough air.  That is why we designed our inlet pipe so large.  So even if you are running our big and beefy AVO55 turbocharger you will not be let down before the air has even reached the turbocharger!

 

Notes:

  • Suitable for larger turbos with 2.75" compressor inlets
  • Can be used on 3.0 inch Turbo Covers
  • Fitment was designed as a one-size-fits-all for all Subaru Turbo EJ20/EJ25 vehicles from 2001-onwards. Fitment is easiest on 08-21 STI models, all other models may require additional modification to the inlet hose or surrounding components (including breather hoses/fittings) for installation. Addtional installation hardware may be required for other non 08-21 STI models.
