WHAT ARE MIDPIPES?
Located between the downpipes and center resonator, the pair of midpipes make up roughly 12 feet of factory tubing and two large resonators. Upgrading this section removes the resonators and ultimately frees up the middle of the exhaust system improving flow and exhaust notes.

The S6 & S7 4.0T engine is an absolute powerhouse that marks all the checkboxes; V8, twin-turbo, and a DSG transmission; unfortunately, the factory exhaust is full of resonators and mufflers to silence the fun. IE's midpipes are an affordable solution that modifies the stock exhaust system by removing factory resonators and replacing them with a set of high-quality straight pipes resulting in a much-improved exhaust note.
DIAL IN YOUR EXHAUST
With IE's Midpipes and X-Pipe upgrades, you can replace individual sections of the factory exhaust to dial in the volume to your preference. Most sound on the C7 4.0T platform is silenced via the factory downpipes, midpipes, and center muffler. Installing variations of these three parts can deliver a mild to extreme exhaust note without touching the rear mufflers, which makes upgrading your exhaust system much more affordable and adjustable than a traditional catback style exhaust.
