Description

The Overtake Dual AVCS Cam Solenoid Heat Shield restores and improves the factory thermal protection for the right-hand exhaust AVCS solenoid and cam sensor wiring on the 2008–2021 Subaru STI. When you fit an aftermarket header, you remove the factory header’s built-in shielding and leave a plastic shroud and thin harness directly above one of the hottest sections of the exhaust. This shield rebuilds that protection and adds a reflective barrier to keep wiring and connectors out of direct header heat.

Formed from 1.5 mm 304 stainless steel with a brushed finish, the shield bolts to two factory mounting points using the original hardware. A pre-cut gold heat reflective barrier is applied over the stainless to turn back radiant heat before it reaches the metal, creating a separate thermal chamber between the header and the electronics. The raised Overtake logo and finish match the Overtake Turbo Heatshield for a consistent look in the engine bay.

Designed around the 2008–2021 STI Dual AVCS layout, the shield closes off the pocket above the right-hand header where the exhaust AVCS solenoid and cam sensor connectors sit. On cars already fitted with an aftermarket header, the shield can typically be installed from below the frame rail without removing the exhaust, using the lower side of the timing cover and the back of the exhaust AVCS solenoid bracket as mounting points.
