The OVERTAKE Shifter Stop is designed to improve shift feel on modern Subaru vehicles equipped with cable-shifted 6-speed manual transmissions. A common issue with the factory shifter mechanism is excess side-to-side cable play, which allows the shifter to move past the 1st–2nd gear gates. This can result in notchy shifts, vague engagement, or in some cases difficulty selecting gears.
The OVERTAKE Shifter Stop introduces a precise mechanical limit to the lateral movement of the shifter, allowing you to fine-tune the shift path for consistently crisp and accurate gear changes. By reducing unwanted slop, shifts into 1st and 2nd gear feel more direct and confidence-inspiring during daily driving.
Designed to mimic the factory reverse lockout, the main body is manufactured from injection-moulded, glass-filled nylon. This material offers excellent strength and wear resistance while avoiding the risk of damage associated with metal shifter stops. Each kit includes all required hardware for a straightforward, bolt-on installation.
